Have you built sites before?
In June 2020, we implemented WordPress’s block-based page editor. It looks (and functions!) very differently from what you might be used to:
- The block editor makes it easy to lay out pages, edit your content and deliver your unique message.
- New content and layout features give you additional options to customize pages. You have over 30 block types to choose from!
- Take your site to the next level. Once you’ve mastered the basics of the new editor, dive into the theme’s more advanced features.
Editing the homepage
Step 1: Planning your content
We recommend saving edits to this page — your site’s homepage — for last.
As a portal to your site’s most important content, the homepage requires established pages and posts for you to embed, feature or link to.
Think of your homepage like the introduction to a paper: You can’t be entirely sure what’s inside until you’ve written it!
Step 2: Designing your page
When you’re ready to create your homepage, follow these steps:
- Edit this page, or start fresh with a new one. If you create a new homepage, remember to assign the new page as the homepage and delete this one!
- Need design inspiration? Check out our example homepage layouts.
